The Science

This is a time of tremendous change in the Arctic sea ice cover.  These changes may serve as an indicator and amplifier of global warming. There are observations that the team will make that will have scientific importance.
 
However as the team will be hauling weighted sledges across hazardous ice conditions that will risk their lives, any scientific program will be designed in a way that minimizes weight, work, and time.
