Update on Solar Plants in Countries

May 2007

More countries have or are looking to develop their own solar plants and perhaps there is a race to build the largest facility.  The oil giant BP is getting involved in a number of these facilities and looks like a wise move.

Spain currently has an 11MW solar thermal plant in Seville

Portugal has completed an 11MW photovoltaic plant

China is in a 5 year development plan to build a 100MW solar plant.  Also Australia and Israel are intending to build solar facilities

India - BP and the Tata group are looking to increase the Bangalore's solar facilities to 300MW
